about Pastor Rob’s Sabbatical
-
Pastor Rob is taking a sabbatical as an opportunity for rest and rejuvenation after leading through several challenging seasons. It's a common practice in Christian leadership and is designed to benefit both the pastor and the church community.
-
Rekindle joy and zeal in Christ
Grow closer to family and God
Gain clarity on gifting and service level
Develop skills for a resilient and content life in Christ and ministry
-
The sabbatical portion will be from January through March, with Rob returning to the office on April 6th.
-
Rob's sabbatical will focus on:
Spiritual growth and family time
Traveling to California and Florida for family visits and rest
Taking a leadership class to enhance his ministry skills
-
Jon Lee, Executive Director of Operations will oversee our staff and continue implementing our strategic initiatives. Additionally, he will be the primary point of connection between the Board of Elders and the day to day operations of our church. Pastors Leon McKenzie and Wendell Pfohl, Next Gen Director Brad Crofoot, and guest speakers will handle teaching responsibilities.
-
The congregation is encouraged to lean in during this season through volunteering, praying for Rob and the church, and trusting the Lord's providence for EHBC.
-
No, the sabbatical is not for exploring other opportunities. It is intended as a restful and restorative period for Pastor Rob and his family.
-
For any questions or concerns, please contact Jonathan Lee at jonathan.lee@easternhills.org.
-
The purpose of the sabbatical is to provide undisturbed rest and renewal for Pastor Rob. The church encourages respecting this time by directing queries and concerns to the board and staff who are covering his duties.
